Cloud Sync

You control what (if anything) gets synced to the GuideAI server, this is configured per provider on the Provider Configuration page, e.g. for Claude:

As soon as you enable a sync, it will sync all found sessions for that provider. If you do not want this then you should delete the historical sessions first, or be sure to select only the projects (not ALL) that you want to sync to GuideAI.

The first time you enable a FULL sync it will ask you to confirm:

Select which projects you would like to sync, it is important you select this BEFORE enabling a metric or full sync, or it will begin syncing historical sessions that you may not want copied to the server (note you can delete them later, but best not to share anything you don’t want to).

Synchronise Nothing (Default)

• All data stays local on your machine
• No cloud features available
• Maximum privacy
• Use this if you never want to sync data

Metrics Only

• Syncs: Session metadata, metrics, and AI summaries
• Stays local: Full session transcripts and code
• Privacy balance: Team can see stats, your code stays private
• Use case: Team analytics without exposing sensitive code

What syncs in Metrics Only mode:

• Session start/end times
• Duration and token counts
• Commands executed count
• Files read count (but not file names or contents)
• AI-generated summaries (if configured)
• Quality scores
• Performance metrics

What stays local:

• Full conversation transcripts
• Code snippets
• File paths and names
• Specific commands
• Tool outputs

Transcript & Metrics

• Syncs: Everything including full transcripts
• Benefits: Full team collaboration, advanced analytics
• Privacy: All session data visible to team

Use case: Team environments where full transparency or auditability is desired
